BoyleSports has cut Padraig Harrington’s odds of claiming his second senior major at this week’s Senior US Open into 7/1 from 10/1.
The PGA Championship and dual Open Championship winner landed his first major on the senior circuit at the same tournament in 2022 and arrives at Newport Country Club on a high. He successfully fended off the challenge of former Masters winner Mike Weir last week to score his eighth victory since joining the Champions Tour.
LIV Tour’s Richard Bland remains popular at the top of the betting at 5/1 on what will be just his second start in the US this year. He has a 100% record on the Champions Tour as he bids to record back-to-back senior majors, having won the Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores in May.
With a competitive field building behind the Englishman, Lee Westwood (15/2) has also attracted support on his first Champions Tour start, with last year’s winner and serial senior major winner Steve Stricker rated a 13/2 chance.
Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “With the Champions Tour out of the grasp of Scottie Scheffler, this week’s Senior US Open is as competitive as we’ve seen. Richard Bland and Lee Westwood make it a high-quality field, but punters are fancying the chances of Padraig Harrington and he has the momentum after last week’s win.”
