Tom McKibbin’s quest to earn one of the ten PGA Tour cards available on the Race to Dubai at the end of the season took another step in the right direction as he moved into the top-20 on the season long rankings on the DP World Tour.

McKibbin produced a superb final round of 65 to finish in solo sixth place at the KLM Open, just a week after making the cut at the US Open on his major championship debut.

The 21-year-old finished on nine-under-par just two shots outside of the three-way playoff which was won by Italian Guido Migliozzi, but he did move up five places in the Race to Dubai.

Meanwhile, Conor Purcell fell out of the top-20 in the Road to Mallorca standings. The Portmarnock man is 21st in the season long race with the top-20 players at the end of the season earning promotion to the DP World Tour.

Gary Hurley is in 21st place.
