A superb back nine from Damian Mooney saw him roar to his first win of the Elavon PGA in Ireland season at the Luttrellstown Pro-Am.
Mooney cruised to a round of 66 to win by four shots from Rathfarnham’s Liam Power, Spa’s Simon Thornton and Niall Kearney on six-under-par.
The Lough Erne professional pulled away from the field with a flawless back nine of 32 where he rolled in birdies on the 11th, 12th, 15th and 18th.
Mooney who is no stranger to an appearance on the Legends Tour, started quickly with back-to-back birdies on the first and second before dropping his only shot of the day on the third.
He birdied the par-4 8th to gather some momentum heading into the back nine.
Power also roared home in 32 shots but a rocky front nine left him with too much work to do.
Power was two-over after nine following three bogeys and a birdie on the 8th, but he finished like a train with birdies on 15 and 16 and a closing eagle.
Headfort’s Brendan McGovern rounded off the under par scoring in fifth place after a 71.
