Mark Power blitzed the field to earn his first professional win at the Mount Juliet Pro-Am.

Power, who is the touring ambassador for Mount Juliet skipped around in six-under-par for a 66 which saw him ease to a five shot win.

Behind him were Tim Rice of Limerick and Banbridge’s Richard Kilpatrick on one-under-par while Peter Lawrie, Liam Power (Rathfarnham), Brendan McGovern (Headfort) and Damien McGrane (Carlow) were level-par and in a share of fourth place.

Power got off to the ideal start with an opening birdie and while he dropped a shot at the picturesque par-3 3rd, he roared to the turn with three birdies in five holes.

Birdies on 10 and 11 made it four in a row for the Challenge Tour professional and he added further birdies on the 15th and 17th either side of a bogey on 16.

Rounding off the top-10 were Brian McCormack now of Tullamore Golf Club, Mount Juliet’s own Roy O’Neill, Richard O’Donovan, Simon Thornton and Damian Mooney who were all one-over-par.
