Shane Lowry has tipped Danish superstar twins Nicolai and Rasmus Hojgaard for big things and insists they are the future of Europe’s Ryder Cup team.
Lowry played the first two rounds of the US PGA Championship in Valhalla with Nicolain who birdied his last two holes to make the cut on the number at one-under.
Rasmus had no such worries at two-under-par and Lowry can only see the brothers going from strength to strength.
“I was very happy for him, he birdied the last two to hopefully make the cut, I was pretty happy for him on the last. I love the two lads, Nicolai and Rasmus, they’re two great lads and they will be a huge part of the DP World Tour and the European Ryder Cup team for years to come.”
Nicolai impressed as a rookie at the Ryder Cup last September as Rasmus narrowly missed out on a wildcard pick although he was present in the backroom team at Marco Simone Golf Club.
Nicolai finished 16th at the Masters last month, playing alongside the world number one Scottie Scheffler on Saturday, he briefly took the solo lead with a birdie on the tenth hole before finished up the round with five straight bogeys.
