Lough Erne’s Damian Mooney will have plenty to play for heading into the final round of the Senior PGA Professional Championhip at Moor Park.

Mooney is just two shots off the pace on five-under after a second round of 69 that included a hole-out eagle on the par-4 7th.

There is more than just winning the title on the line today with the top-15 in the leaderboard set to qualify for the Senior PGA Championship in Trump International Golf Links on the Legends Tour.

Mooney lies in second place and is relishing the chance to play another Legends Tour event having played the PGA Seniors last year.

“It’s a fabulous incentive, it’s a great thing for the top-15. The venue there is fabulous, it oozes class. Hopefully I can get back there for the PGA Seniors.

“I played on the Legends Tour last year and didn’t quite get a card so it would be a great thing to be able to play another tour event.”

Headfort’s Brendan McGovern is in third place with Irish PGA champion David Higgins on one-under in T9.
