As Augusta National continue to monitor the weather situation for day one of the 2024 Masters tournament, they have confirmed that the first round will be delayed until at least 9am (originally scheduled for an 8am start) and that gates will remain closed to patrons pending further updates.
An update on the tournament website on Wednesday evening confirmed that car parking and gate opening would not commence at the originally scheduled time, and that a further update would come at 5am local time (10 am Irish time).
As expected, that announcement came and though they have not yet written off having patrons on the grounds or the day’s play being suspended altogether, additional delays seem likely.
Further updates will follow, but will we see action on day one? Stay tuned!
We continue to monitor the weather closely. Gate openings and tee times have been delayed until further notice. The first round will not begin before 9 a.m. https://t.co/upQzE1x4Jh
