Nelly Korda is just three matchplay wins away from nothing her fourth LPGA Tour title in a row this season.

However, an old foe in Leona Maguire might stand in her way should the pair progress to the final of the T-Mobile Matchplay presented by MGM Rewards.

Just five days ago Korda lifted her third successive title at the Ford Championship, one week after winning the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship.

Those back-to-back wins came after her previous victory in January at the LPGA Drive On Championship which was her last start.

Her win at the Drive On was also her first after a winless 2023, it’s fair to say the floodgates have opened.

The world number one is bidding for a 12th LPGA Tour title, which would take her up to 28th in the all tome list.

A win on Sunday would be the second longest winning streak on the LPGA Tour and Korda would be just one shy of the record held by Nancy Lopez (1978) and Annika Sorenstam who won five in a row on two occasions in 2004 and 2005.

However, there is a chance that Korda and Maguire could meet in the final for the latest instalment of their matchplay battles.

On her Solheim Cup debut, Maguire alongside Mel Reid beat the Korda sisters in the opening morning foursomes before hammering Nelly and Ally Ewing 5&4 in the day two foursomes.

However, Nelly got her own back on Maguire last September beating her in the day one foursomes although Maguire got a 4&3 win over her in the day two fourballs.
