Castle golfer Robert Moran is in contention for his maiden professional victory in just his second start on the Alps Tour at the Red Sea Little Venice Open.
Moran birdied four of his last seven holes to lie in a share of 8th place on ten-under-par and just two shots off the lead heading into the final round after a 68.
It’s a jam packed leaderboard with 20 players separated by just four shots as Italy’s Edoardo R Lipparelli, Austria’s Lukas Lipold and Mario Galiano Aguilar share the lead.
“Today I played really well, it was a good round where I played really solid my shots were all very good and make some important putts,” said Lipparelli.
“I also hit it very close to the pin on some holes which facilitated making the birdies. Tee to green, my game was overall very solid, my iron play was slightly more precise than the prior rounds. This makes me happy for sure.”
Moran is also the only Irish player to make it into the final round with a low scoring cut falling at five-under through 36 holes.
