Holywood star Tom McKibbin will tee it up in this week’s Ras Al Khaimah Championship from a career-high 153rd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
McKibbin enjoyed a very consistent debut season on the DP World Tour, winning the Porsche European Open alongside one further top-10 finish and eight top-25 finishes.
The 21-year-old changed equipment manufacturer to Callaway over the winter and that hasn’t halted his consistency, showing up well with finishes of T25 and T14 in the recent Dubai tournaments.
Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy remains at world number two after capturing his fourth Dubai Desert Classic title on Sunday.
Shane Lowry has slipped perilously close to dropping out of the world’s top-50 for the first time since 2019. Following a missed cut at The American Express, the Clara man has fallen from 43rd to 47th in the Official World Golf Rankings, putting a dent in his hopes of playing his way into the Signature Events on the PGA Tour.
Séamus Power is now outside the top-90 in the world having slipped to 93rd.
