Stephanie Meadow lost ground at the Toto Japan Classic after a second round of 71 left her elven shots off the lead shared by Japanese duo Nasa Hataoka and Shiho Kuwaki.
Meadow is three-under-par and in a share of 58th place.
Meadow needs a good week to push her way into the frame for the top-60 and qualification for the season-ending Race to CME Globe Tour Championship. She is currently ranked 66th in the rankings with just one more regular event remaining after this week.
The Jordanstown native is projected to fall to 68th after what was a damaging second round.
At the summit, home favourites Hataoka and Kuwaki share the lead on fourteen-under after rounds of 66 and 65 respectively with Xiyu Lin in third on -12 alongside Japanese duo Akie Iwai and Mone Inami.
“My hitting not good, but I made so many putts so my putting was really good today,” said Hataoka who is relishing the home support.
“Yeah, especially my hometown, so I was really excited and everybody cheering for me, so I was really happy.”
