Stephanie Meadow is inching ever closer to the top-60 in the Race to CME Globe Rankings after a second round 70 at the Maybank Championship kept her on track.

Meadow sits on five-under-par, seven shots adrift of leader Jasmine Suwannapura and in a share of 24th place. Crucially, she is projected to move from 67th to 65th in the Race to CME Globe Rankings with just two regular season events remaining after this week.

The Jordanstown native carded three birdies and just one bogey and damage limitation has been the key to her consistency over the last few weeks.

Meanwhile, Leona Maguire fired a second round of 69 to share 30th place on four-under-par.

The Cavan star bogeyed the 12th hole but went on a rampage, making four successive birdies to make the turn before carding two birdies and two bogeys on her back nine.

Thailand’s Suwannapura leads by a shot on twelve-under from USA star Rose Zhang while Celine Boutier is part of a three-way tie for third on ten-under with Peiyun Chien and Hannah Green.
