Stephanie Meadow’s run of three successive bogey-free rounds came to a shuddering halt on day two of the BMW Ladies Championship as she slumped to a second round 78.
Meadow teed off just five shots off the overnight lead after a bogey-free 67 which followed her bogey-free weekend in Shanghai that boosted her CME Tour Championship hopes.
However, the Jordanstown native had a nightmare on Friday morning throwing in two double bogeys, three bogeys and just one birdie on the par-4 17th.
It leaves Meadow in a share of 57th place on one-over, twelve shots off the lead held by Minjee Lee but crucially it sees her drop from 66th to 70th in the projected CME Globe Rankings with the top-60 making it to the Tour Championship.
There are three events remaining after this week before the Tour Championship.
At the summit, Lee carded rounds of 64 and 69 to open up a two-shot gap from Alison Lee and Ashleigh Buhai on eleven-under-par.
