Power and Maguire shine as Galbraith climbs into Q-School mix

Mark Power and Alex Maguire are both comfortably inside the top-20 at the First Stage of DP World Tour Q-School in Austria while JR Galbraith made a big move in Sweden.

Newly turned pro Power backed up an opening round of 66 with a second round 69 to move onto nine-under-par and a share of sixth place while his Walker Cup teammate Maguire is a shot further back in eleventh after back-to-back rounds of 68.

The projected cut for the top-23 is seven-under-par with amateur Charlie Kelly the next best Irishman on two-under-par while 41-year-old Douglas amateur is two shots further back on level-par after a 71.

Meanwhile in Sweden a blistering third round 65 saw Galbraith move into a share of eighth place on seven-under-par ahead of the final round with Gavin Moynihan on one-under while Kevin Phelan missed the cut.
