Terras da Comporta is promising golfers a luxury on-course experience that matches the quality of its new Dunas Course after finalising two new industry partnerships.
The Portuguese venue has teamed up with global telecommunication giants Samsung and leading golf app providers Hole19 to deliver an on-course playing concept that promises to revolutionise the customer service that guests enjoy while playing a round.
All of Terras da Comporta’s fleet of golf buggies will be fitted with the latest GPS technology using the new Samsung Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro tablet, which will deliver enhanced performance and connectivity straight to players’ fingertips. This will allow golfers to enjoy a variety of on-course services including instant access to pinpoint hole and shot distances, order food and drinks and communicate with the caddie master.
Using the Hole19 app, not only will golfers be able to receive accurate yardages, but they will also benefit from a range of other innovative features, including the ability to track scores, receive key performance insights to improve scores and set up live leaderboards so that they can compete against friends more easily.
Hole19 currently has more than 3.6 million registered users in over 180 countries and Terras da Comporta director of golf Rodrigo Ulrich is thrilled to have finalised the high-profile partnerships after The Dunas Course opened for play for the first time on June 1.
Ulrich said: “It’s our aim at Terras da Comporta to deliver the best possible customer experience possible, from the moment that guests arrive to the time when they leave. That includes the service that they receive on the golf course, and having access to the latest state-of-the-art GPS technology will further enhance the elite experience being offered.”
Anthony Douglas, CEO of Hole19, said: “The Dunas Course is set to become one of the best golf courses in Europe, and we’re excited to be a part of this journey by providing golfers with the tools they need to improve their game and elevate their experience.
“We are thrilled to partner with Terras da Comporta, Dunas Golf Course and Samsung to bring Hole19 to the forefront of golf technology, making it easier for golfers to enjoy the game and enhance their skills.”
Samsung and Hole19 are the latest high-profile names to join Terras da Comporta’s growing list of industry partners after leading sports turf manufacturers John Deere was announced as a preferred partner last month.
Situated an hour south of Lisbon in a secluded coastal setting on the edge of the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve, The Dunas Course is owned by Vanguard Properties – the largest real estate developer in Portugal – and is one of two 18-hole championship layouts being planned at Terras da Comporta.
Created over 84 hectares of natural, sandy terrain, the 6,555-metres layout has been built using the highest sustainable practices and is the first in mainland Europe to have been designed by acclaimed architect David McLay-Kidd.
Complementing The Dunas Course will be a new clubhouse and golf academy. Away from the fairways, an array of lifestyle activities will be available including horseriding, wellness and sailing, with a wide range of plots for hotels, tourist and residential condominiums also on offer.
