Swede Vincent Norrman claimed a maiden PGA Tour victory after coming through a playoff to win the Barbasol Championship on Sunday.
It was far from plain sailing for the 25-year old who holed an eight-footer for bogey on the 72nd hole to force extra holes before scrambling a par second time around on 18 which proved enough to pip England’s Nathan Kimsey to the title.

Norrman had posted a 22-under par tally in regulation and after coming through the playoff, the rookie admitted that his wildest dreams hadn’t even stretched this far after just 23 starts on tour.
“Yeah, it’s even beyond that, I don’t think I’ve dreamt this big yet honestly,” said Norrman, who played one year at Florida State after four years at Division II Georgia Southwestern.
“It’s amazing. I’m so happy with both Georgia and Florida State, what they’ve done for me. Can’t wait to go back to Tallahassee and celebrate.”
Norrman banks 300 FedExCup points and $684,000 for the victory, moving up to 61st on the season-long race with the top-70 advancing to the playoffs. Asked how his goals had changed in the aftermath of the victory, Norrman was in no place to process it.
“I’m going to leave that to my caddie to figure out, and my coach Liam. I don’t know, we’re going to figure that out tomorrow,” he said. “I don’t think I can process this for a while. I’m lost for words. It’s amazing.”
