Sara Byrne made light work of her first professional start as she finished in sixth place at the LET Access Series Vasteras Open by Elite Hotels.
The Douglas amateur who won the Women’s Irish Close last weekend finished on one-under-par after rounds of 71, 72 and 72 seven shots off the pace set by Puk Lyng Thomsen.
Byrne has cast her eyes on a dip into the pro ranks after her final year of college golf in Miami in the US but she has further starts in the Capio Ogon Trophy at Uppsala next week where she will be joined by Elm Park’s Anna Foster.
Having won the Women’s Close in Connemara, the 22-year-old is set for the KPMG Irish Women’s Open in Dromoland in September.
