Tim Rice won the Vermilion Pro-Am at Carne Golf Links after a blustery day in Belmullet.
The Limerick professional shot a two-under 70 to cruise to a three-shot win in the 36-hole event.
Rice who has great links form having been a serial winner in the Portmarnock Winter Series backed was two shots behind Michael McGeady and Nicholas Grant after an opening round of 72.
Tim was the only player to finish under-par after two rounds while Sunshine Tour player Richard O’Donovan was second on one-over after a one-under 71.
O’Donovan’s round was the joint-second lowest of the day along with Mullingar’s James Quinlivan who shot a 71 to share 11th on seven-over.
Neil O’Briain of McGuirk’s Golf in Finglas was trailing the overnight lead by just one shot but he could only muster a three-over 75 as he took third on two-over-par.
East Cork’s David Ryan was fourth on three-over while McGeady was forced to settle for solo fifth on four-over after a 78.
There was a five-way tie for sixth on six-over including Waterville’s David Higgins, Golf4kids Ciaran Molloy, Lough Erne’s Damian Mooney, Castle’s Richard Bridges and Mark Staunton.
