The Play in Pink campaign is back making a colourful splash across Irish fairways this year with Wicklow and Balcarrick Golf Clubs doing their bit in aid of Breast Cancer Research.
The brilliant initiative has well and truly returned off the back of a record breaking year in 2021 where over €370.000 was raised for The National Breast Cancer Research Institute.
The flamingo army are already making their presence felt in 2022 with Wicklow GC raising over €10,000 as men and women embraced the pink theme and then some, with a Hair Dye fundraiser also taking place at the club.
Balcarrick GC turned out in pink on Monday May 2nd and crowned a King and Queen of Pink on a day that lit up the club and raised much-needed funds to fight a disease that sits so close to many of our lives.
The Play in Pink initiative wouldn’t exist without the generosity of the golf community in Ireland and clubs are still being encouraged to play in pink if they haven’t already.
Clubs like Beaufort, Faithlegg, St Margaret’s, Muskerry, The K Club and Letterkenny all joined the Play in Pink brigade last year while it’s great to see more men taking part than ever, and juniors embracing the concept too.
