Roganstown’s Sean Keeling landed a brilliant hole-in-one on the par-3 fourth hole en route to a second round 73 at the latest Toro Tour event at Azata Golf.
The teenager enjoyed a fourth place finish at the venue last week and might go a couple of spots better after moving into a tie for fifth alongside Athlone’s Charlie Kelly with a round to go in Spain.
The pair have been inseparable over the first two days, carding a brace of two-over 73s to be sharing fifth at four-over, eight back of Arron Edwards-Hill’s lead, though only two shots off second.
The pair lead the Irish charge in the amateur division with Elm Park’s Jake Foley tied at 10-over par alongside Padraig O’Dochartaigh, Ciaran Bateman struggling at plus-26 and Conor Hickey at 32-over.
In the professional event, Brian McCormack is the only Irish player in the field and added a 76 to his opening 72 to sit at six-over par, 10 shots back of the highly-talented Pia Babnik.
