Jamie Rutherford has claimed the £1,000 P2 Grips bonus by becoming the first player to win on Tour using one of P2’s Putter Grips.

The Knebworth Golfer sealed the Tour Championship two weeks ago at Slaley Hall to claim the £25,000 first-place prize and top spot on the 2021 Order of Merit to secure a Challenge Tour card for the 2022 campaign.

P2 Grips introduced the offer to members at the start of the season where the bonus would be paid out to the first golfer on the Tour to win a tournament in the whole season whilst using the grip for all three rounds.

Rutherford said: I am very pleased to win the bonus. I’ve been using the P2 putter grip for nearly 3 years now and I’ve loved it. Along with the putting work I’ve done with my coach James Jankowski the P2 Grip has had a big impact on me being able to have a successful season. My putting has continued to improve, and I won’t be changing from the P2 any time soon that’s for sure.”

Enda McLoughlin, PGA Professional, and Designer of P2 Grips said: “P2 Putter Grips have been a long-term supporter of the PGA EuroPro Tour and we are very proud to see Jamie win the Tour Championship at Slaley Hall, and with it claiming this year’s order of merit title. Jamie has been using a P2 Grip for the past three seasons so we are always following his progress throughout the season with great interest. Jamie’s form this year has been super impressive, missing only one cut and finishing inside the top-20 in every other event, 7 of these finishing inside the top-10 including the decisive victory at the Tour Championship.

We are delighted to be able to add to the winnings Jamie secured at Slaley Hall by claiming our £1,000 bonus, and we wish him the very best of luck next year on the Challenge Tour, we hope that it will be another successful season and a steppingstone to the new DP World Tour in the very near future”

P2 Grips are like no other in the world featuring a unique patented design that allows the shaft to be positioned along the underside of the grip encouraging the golfer to position their hands and wrists higher at address. The grips were bio-mechanically tested by Quintic Consultancy and showed an improvement in relation to putts being struck from the sweet spot with greater frequency, improved putter face aim at impact, and putts starting closer to their intended start line. This year P2 has added the new Touch Tour pistol profile grip which may be of particular interest to the PGA EuroPro Tour players.

In 2020 whilst much of the world stood still, the team at P2 pushed forward with the launch of their award-winning Trident Align ball marker, the world’s first adjustable ball marker which has already proven to be a great success globally, now selling in over 57 countries and growing. Trident Align is designed especially for golfers who use a line on their golf ball as it allows the golfer to begin the process of aiming at their intended start line, adjusting the aim without the need for the ball to be imposition in front of the marker making for a more accurate and quicker process. This revolutionary design is approved for tournament play by both the USGA & the R&A.
