Graeme McDowell, the 2019 Corales Puntacana Championship winner is maintaining his strong showing at Corales Golf Club and is sitting just three shots off the pace heading to the final day.

McDowell returned a third round of two-under par which included birdies at the first, fourth, seventh and seventeenth along with bogeys on the fifth and twelfth which added a round of 70 to his opening efforts of 70 and 69.

The result sees him at seven-under par overall and in seventh place heading to the final day in Punta Cana.

Seamus Power wasn’t quite as successful unfortunately and his one-over par effort have him in T51st place while Ireland’s other representative in the event, Padraig Harrington is one shot further back on two-over par.

At the top of the leaderboard there’s two-way tie with the USA’s Joel Dahmen and Puerto Rico’s Rafael Campos both on ten-under after third rounds of 68 and 69 respectively.  It’s the second 54-hole lead that Campos has held in the last month and it could prove to be a good omen for him as either the leaders or co-leaders have gone on to win this tournament in both 2018 and 2019.

Campos is the only player with three rounds in the 60’s this week and he managed it in fine style, holing a 50-footer from the fringe on the final hole, statistically the hardest on the course, for the second day in a row to card a third round 69.

Dahmen meanwhile is enjoying only his second 54-hole lead on the PGA Tour having been there at the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship where he finished 2nd.  Seeking his first PGA Tour win in 111 starts Dahmen will be hoping that it all comes down to the back nine as he’s been flawless there all week with nine birdies and no dropped shots.

It won’t be a two-horse race though with former Masters Champion Danny Willett in T3 position after a 67 in his first appearance at the event while Canadian Michael Gilgic notched a second consecutive bogey-free round with a 68 and they are both just one shot adrift of the leaders.
