The European Challenge Tour has confirmed the cancellation of the Made in Denmark Challenge presented by FREJA, the B-NL Challenge Trophy and the Foshan Open.
Following discussions with the tournament promoters and stakeholders, the decision to cancel the events was made due to the threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and with public health and well-being the absolute priority.
With the PGA Tour gearing up for a June 11th restart at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas, there’s no such luxury for Europe’s tours with the latest cancellations stretching a long way past summer.
The Made in Denmark Challenge presented by FREJA was due to take place at Frederikshavn Golf Club on August 12-15 and the B-NL Challenge Trophy was scheduled for August 27-30 at a venue to be confirmed in The Netherlands.
The promoters of the Foshan Open, which was scheduled for Foshan Golf Club on October 22-25, have extended their ten-year agreement with the Challenge Tour by one year until at least 2023.
