Kinsale’s John Murphy has claimed his second win on the collegiate circuit as his American Dream continues to prosper with the Louisville Cardinals.
The final 36 holes of the Dorado Beach Collegiate were cancelled due to inclement weather. Monday’s second round was postponed and eventually negated due to rain, while Tuesday’s final round was also cancelled due to heavy rains.
That meant Murphy, who claimed his maiden win at the Bearcat Invitational in Cincinnati in October, collected his second career tournament and the second this year, shooting a seven-under-par 65.
Murphy did the damage on Sunday, recording nine birdies and two bogeys on the afternoon to tie at the top with Ben Sigel of Kansas.

Murphy’s fine work saw the University of Louisville men’s golf team awarded their third tournament win of the season, owning a seven-shot lead over second place Kansas. The Cardinals won two tournaments in the fall, winning the Bearcat Invitational and the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate.
Louisville return to the course on March 9-10 at the General Hackler Invitational.
