Carr Golf, one of Ireland’s leading providers of golf course management and maintenance services, has signed a multi-year course maintenance contract with Skerries Golf Club on the North Dublin coast. This latest deal brings Carr Golf’s North Co. Dublin course maintenance footprint to 126 holes across 6 links and parkland courses, and 18 courses in total across Ireland.
Ed Pettit, Managing Director of the Carr Golf Maintenance Division said, “Skerries Golf Club is a magical spot with a thriving, active membership. The Club’s Officers and management were fantastic to work with throughout the 12-month procurement process. We’re looking forward to working with the existing green keeping team to maximise their ability to present the golf course to the highest possible standard.
“Our goal is to create the best possible playing surfaces and provide members with an enjoyable and challenging experience year-round. We are excited to work closely and build relationships with Martin Browne, Michael Calvey and the team over the next number of years.”
In addition to the course improvements, Pettit sees off-course advantages too: “Our approach will help the Club’s management board to radically simplify the administration of the Golf Club. They will now receive just one invoice per month, twelve per year, which takes care of their entire maintenance operation.”
Carr Golf Regional Superintendent Aindriu Jackson will oversee the operation and help guide the team, managed by Head Green Keeper, Martin Browne, deliver a comprehensive maintenance plan.
Skerries Golf Club is an 18-hole championship parkland course founded in 1905.
John McInerney, Chairman commented: “We are delighted to welcome Carr Golf to Skerries for what we hope will be a mutually beneficial multi-year engagement. Skerries Golf Club is very proud of its golf course and our course staff who have served the Members well for many years. We believe that Carr Golf, together with our experienced staff, will bring our course to a new level of maintenance and presentation. We extend Carr our very best wishes and look forward to reaping the benefits in the coming golfing seasons.”
