Leinster have taken control at the Girls Interprovincials as they go in search of an unprecedented fifth consecutive title at Mount Wolseley tomorrow.

Jan Browne (Kilkenny), Emma Fleming (Elm Park) and Caoimhe O’Grady (Blackbush) secured singles victories this afternoon to ensure a 5 – 3 victory over their Munster counterparts, the same winning margin by which they had beaten Ulster on the opening day’s play.

The Ulster Girls’ conceded just 1.5 points to the Connacht Team which included three halved matches. Rebekah Gardner (Carnalea), Katie Poots (Knock) and Tara Laverty (Royal Portrush) logged the singles honours for the Ulster side to add to their two foursomes points this morning.

Ulster are defending Champions in the Women’s Interprovincials and with a 5.5 – 2.5 win over Leinster on day one and a 6 – 2 win sweep over Connacht today, they might well complete the double if they overcome Munster in tomorrow’s final clash.

However, with similar points on the board overall, Munster or Leinster may well feature come the end of proceedings.

Play will resume at 8am on Thursday morning where Connacht will play Ulster followed by the tie between Munster and Ulster.
