This July and August, the golf course is the place for any young, budding golfers. For the 5th year, P2LG, Ireland’s Premier Golf Coaching Programme, hosts its Junior Summer Camps in locations in Dublin, Wicklow and Clare.
Suited to boys and girls aged 6 to 13 years, the series of morning or afternoon golf camps cater for complete beginners and improvers. The focus for the three hour session each day is fun and friendship. Summer campers will learn the golf fundamentals, practising and improving the very basics with short game and on course play. The maximum group size is 16. All equipment is provided if necessary.
P2LG’s Junior Summer Camps started in 2012 and over 5,000 children have been coached and mentored through the programmes. Hugh Feeney, PGA Professional and Head Coach, is delighted to launch the 5th year of the Summer Camps programme. “Golf helps build confidence and relationships and it’s especially important to develop these skills in younger people. Our kids thoroughly enjoy the camps and return each year. The best moment of the week for me are the proud faces at our Certificate Ceremony. Golf is a game for all the family, which can be enjoyed forever”.
The four day camps run from Monday to Thursday. The Morning Camp runs from 10am to 1pm. The Afternoon Camp runs from 2pm to 5pm. The cost is €89 per child. Each additional sibling is €80. This summer, camps take place in five locations in July and August; Carr Golf Centre at Spawell, Dublin 6W, Elmgreen Golf Club, Dublin 15, Castleknock Golf Club, Dublin 15, Charlesland Golf Club, Co. Wicklow and Dromoland Golf & Country Club, Co. Clare.
