O’Briain leads the way at EuroPro Q-School finale

Neil O’Briain fired a three-under par 69 to head the Irish challenge after Round one of Q-School Final Qualifying at Frilford Heath.

The Dubliner fired three birdies and an eagle that finds him three shots off the pace and in a share of 18thahead of round two today.

Naas pro, Conor O’Rourke is just one shot behind O’Briain after a solid two-under 70 with Woodcote Park’s Peter Williamson and Mount Juliet’s Luke Donnelly a short further back at minus-one.

Headort’s Joe Dillon and Shannon’s Daniel Brennan navigated their way round in even par while Cameron Raymond finds himself in a tie for 94that plus one.

Today is a key day with golfers taking on either the red or blue course depending on which they didn’t play on Tuesday. After 36-holes, qualifying will be cut to the leading 80 ahead of Thursday’s final round.

All those who have progressed to Final Stage have already earned at least a category 14, with golfers making the cut at Final Stage earning a minimum category 10 and the top 30 earning a category 3.
