Bryson DeChambeau will have a hard time following his ‘Breaking 50’ series collaboration with Donald Trump – the video has now amassed over 10 million views in its two weeks on YouTube – but after the reigning U.S. Open champion put out a tweet on ‘X’ asking who his next guest should be, one name stood out above the rest.
No, it wasn’t current U.S. President Joe Biden, though he was suggested, nor was it Basketball legends Steph Curry or Charles Barkley, the man the public most wanted to see join Bryson was none other than the Wild Thing himself, two-time major winner John Daly.
More than 10,000 people responded to DeChambeau’s post, incuding Daly himself who threw his hat into the ring and it was clear that the public were in favour of the original ‘grip it and rip it’ pioneer being the man.

And almost two weeks after posing the question, DeChambeau has finally responded and it seems as though the collaboration is on the cards.
Daly’s best days may be behind him, the ‘Long John’ moniker no longer rings true, and his knee troubles mean that even walking 18 holes is a struggle, but an hour-long video of him and Bryson playing a scramble format from the forward tees, smashing driver wherever they can, and trying to hit that magical ’49’ number is a salivating prospect.
