Blueprint Financial Planning has officially unveiled its sponsorship of golfer Peter Lawrie on his return to the professional circuit. Former winner of the Spanish Open, Lawrie made his Legends Tour debut this summer and will contest the Senior Open at Carnoustie in Scotland this weekend.

The sponsorship arrangement is the first of its kind for an Irish financial brokerage and sees Lawrie wear the Blueprint logo on his right sleeve. It complements the company’s annual charity golf classic, which has raised over €28k for good causes since it began in September 2020.

Speaking of the sponsorship, founder and managing director of Blueprint Financial Planning, John O’Driscoll said: “I am an avid golfer, as are many of my clients, and this sponsorship is an incredible opportunity to get direct access to a golf pro of Peter Lawrie’s calibre. Peter is a natural fit for us here at Blueprint. He’s proven himself an able entrepreneur since retiring from the main tour in 2016 so has a lot in common with the many business owners on my books. He also embodies the qualities that are most important to us – he is ethical, adheres to a strong professional code, and most of all, he is patient, which is a key attribute for long-term financial success.”

Lawrie, who retired from European Tour action in 2016, made his return to international competition after turning 50 earlier this year at the Legends Tour’s Costa Navarino event in Greece and is thrilled to be back in competitive mode and to have joined forces with Blueprint Financial Planning.

“It is a privilege to be back on the pro circuit after a six year absence and I’m delighted to partner with Blueprint Financial Planning at what is a milestone moment for me, my first Legends tour,” he said.

Lawrie tees off this Thursday at the Senior Open in Carnoustie, the first major championship he will compete in as a Senior having played in both the US Open and Open Championship during his time on the European Tour.
