Scottie Scheffler’s win at the Travelers Championship – his fourth PGA Tour Signature Event win and sixth victory of the season – takes his season’s earnings to $27,696,858 with a major championship and the FedEx Cup playoffs still to come.
With the tour average currently sitting at $1,555,579, and assuming he gets the traditional 10 percent cut of winning cheques, Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, will have earned more money on the course than the majority of PGA Tour pros.
Tom Kim’s consolation prize for finishing runner-up is just over $2 million, while Shane Lowry boosts his balance by another half-million dollars after finishing tied for ninth. Completing the Irish interest, Seamus Power’s final-round 63 saw him shoot up the leaderboard and finish tied for 20th, taking home just shy of a quarter-million dollars.
Amy Yang’s three-shot victory at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship sees the Korean’s maiden major championship victory accompanied by a $1.56 million cheque, with world number two Lilia Vu, Jin Young Ko and Miyu Yamashita each collecting $587,543 for finishing joint second.
Leona Maguire didn’t have the weekend she’d hoped for, but her tie for 24th place was worth over $90,000 and takes her career earnings north of $4.5 million on the LPGA Tour.
Tyrrell Hatton was the big winner at LIV Nashville and the 32-year-old fiery Englishman collects $4 million for his victory along with a share of the $3 million for doubling up with helping his Legion XIII side to team glory.
Sam Horsfield takes $2.25 million for finishing second, while Jon Rahm, Joaquin Niemann, Lee Westwood and Bryson DeChambeau each earn seven figures with a million dollars each for finishing tied for third.
Pádraig Harrington’s second successful defence of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open was worth $315,000 to the Dubliner who now has over $6 million in Champions Tour earnings, closing in on a quarter of the $26 million and change he earned on the regular PGA Tour circuit.
Back in Europe, Guido Migliozi’s playoff win at the KLM Open was accompanied by just under €400,000 in winnings, while Englishman Joe Dean’s second place saw him collect a shade over €200,000 and an Open Championship exemption. Tom McKibbin’s Sunday charge that threatened the lead and the two Open Championship spots earns him just over €81,000.
