Michael McGeady posted a score early in Bunclody and it stood the test of time as he won the Bunclody Pro-Am at Bunclody Golf and Fishing Club.
McGeady carded a five-under 67 to win by two shots from a cluster of players as he picked up his second win of the Elavon PGA Ireland circuit.
“I shot a lovely score and I’m quite happy to win over a lot of good players.
“Big week next week in Murvagh so hopefully the game can stay in shape for that.”
The Derry man started well with birdies on the second and third before a birdie on the ninth saw him turn in 34.
McGeady pulled ahead of the field with back-to-back birdies on the 13th and 14th and recovered from his only bogey of the day on 16 with a closing birdie.
McGeady sat at the summit all day as Damien McGrane, Sean O’Donoghue, Cian Geraghty, Niall McGlynn and Liam Grehan all tried in vain to catch him as they settled for a share of second place on three-under-par.
