Limerick’s Tim Rice will take a two shot lead into the final round of the Vermilion Pro-Am at Carne Golf Links.
A picture perfect day greeted the players in Belmullet and Rice took full advantage with a storming front nine of 33.
Rice eagled the par-5 4th and rolled in birdies on the par-3 7th and par-5 9th.
His first dropped shot of the day came on 13 but he responded instantly with a birdie on 14.
A closing bogey brought him back to the field slightly but he has clear daylight heading into Sunday after a 69.
Headfort’s Brendan McGovern, Banbridge’s Richard Kilpatrick and Michael McGeady are in close pursuit on one-under-par after rounds of 71.
Three-time Irish PGA champion, David Higgins who won the title at Carne last year is back in the pace at level-par alongside Niall McGlynn and Michael McDermott.
