David Higgins was beaten in a playoff by Robert Coles at the Senior PGA Professional Championship in Moor Park Golf Club.
The Waterville man shot a joint low round of the day 68 to muscle his way to five-under and into the three-man playoff with Coles and Stephen Fenn but it was Coles who came through.
Higgins, the reigning Irish PGA champion will qualify for the Staysure PGA Seniors on the Legends Tour at Trump International later this year.
The top-15 were guaranteed passages into the event but Brendan McGovern of Headfort came up a shot shy after a final round of 76 to finish in a share of 16th place on one-over.
Lough Erne’s Damian Mooney fell down from 2nd to 22nd with a final round of 80 to miss out on three-over.
