Just a week after picking up another Champions Tour title, Pádraig Harrington will be back taking on the young guns of the PGA Tour at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
Harrington will be the lone Irishman at Memorial Park Golf Course and the man who has turned himself into a power hitter on the Senior Circuit will be looking to test himself at the highest level again.
The Dubliner, 52, looks to be over the worst of his pneumonia battle that struck him down over the winter and plagued his early season form but he is starting to look back to his speedy, long hitting best as he bids to upstage the big boys.
When on song, Harrington is still comfortable at the top level, having made the cut in every major he played last year, the PGA, US Open and The Open.
LPGA Tour
Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow are in action again at the inaugural Ford Championship presented by KCC.
Maguire arrives in good form following a T13 finish last week, despite a poor weekend where back-to-back rounds of 72 saw her fall out of contention.
Ladies European Tour
Lauren Walsh and Olivia Mehaffey will be hoping to have the backing of a strong Irish support to help create a home away from home as they tee it up in Australia for the next fortnight.
Starting at the NSW Women’s Open, the pair will be looking to continue on from positive starts to the season so far.
