Shane Lowry has been clipped into 12/1 from 14/1 with BoyleSports to bag a second career major this year after he finished tied-4th at the weather-delayed Cognizant Classic.
The Offaly man found himself in a three-way tie for the lead heading into the final round at Palm Beach Gardens in Florida, but a closing round of level par 71 allowed American Austin Eckroat to storm clear and land his maiden tour title by three shots.
Irish punters however are confident that the 2019 Open champion is hitting peak form just in time for major season kicking off next month, with the chances of Lowry being the first Irish golfer to don the green jacket at The Masters trimmed into 33/1 from 40/1 this week.
The chances of Lowry getting back to winning ways on the PGA Tour this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando are rated at 55/1, with world number one Scottie Scheffler leading the pack as 11/2 favourite ahead of 15/2 shot Rory McIlroy.
Seamus POwer completes the Irish line up at Bay Hill, and the Waterford man is rated a 250/1 chance at winning his third PGA Tour title.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Shane Lowry is a stone’s throw from Disney World this week but it’s not the Mickey Mouse tournaments that Irish punters are eyeing for the former Open champ as his major odds are starting to shorten.”
