Joshua Hill off the mark in the US with maiden collegiate victory

Joshua Hill birdied his final two holes to win the Badger Invitational for his first individual title on the US collegiate circuit.

The South Alabama freshman carded round of 72, 69 and 68 for an eight-under total and a one shot win over Austin Cherichella.

The Galgorm star finished strongly with four birdies in his final nine holes including three in a row on 11, 12 and 13 to soar up the leaderboard and take the title.

South Alabama finished T11 with a team score of 869 (300-287-282). Florida Gulf Coast was the winning team with a total of 851 (274-286-291) at University Ridge Golf Course.

This was Hill’s second collegiate appearance but he has made a fast start to life Stateside having finished in twelfth place east the Argent Financial Classic.
