Beth Coulter and England’s Lottie Woad earned a 1UP win on the 18th as Europe won the last three afternoon four ball matches to lead Asia Pacific by three points on the opening day of the Patsy Hankins Trophy.

In total, Europe took the session 4-1 at La Manga Golf Resort to coast into a 6.5-3.5 lead with Coulter and Woad winning the anchor match in the four balls.

Earlier in the morning Coulter and Italy’s Francesca Fiorellini were beaten 3&1 in foursomes as the spoils were shared heading into the afternoon matches.

This year’s match is the 3rd edition between the two sides since the match was inaugurated in 2016. In the last match, at Doha Golf Club in Qatar, the Asia-Pacific side dominated against a European team missing several highly ranked players.
