Play in Pink will proudly return as the Official Charity Partner of the 2023 KPMG Women’s Irish Open which returns to Dromoland Castle in a new date from August 31 to September 3 this year.
Almost €23,000 was raised as part of the charity’s fundraising efforts at the stunning Clare resort last year as the beloved nationwide movement continues its vital work for The National Breast Cancer Research Institute.
The nationwide campaign funds the research programme at the Lambe Institute, Galway, helping to fight a disease that affects so many of our lives.
As part of the partnership, day two of this year’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open will be a ‘Play in Pink Day’ with both players and spectators alike encouraged to embrace the festivities for such a worthy cause.
Play in Pink co-ordinator Miriam Hand is thrilled to renew the partnership with the KPMG Women’s Irish Open having witnessed how the 2022 edition impacted awareness around Breast Cancer Research.

“The National Breast Cancer Research Institute is delighted to again be associated with this year’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open,” said Hand.
“Breast cancer is a major health issue for Irish women and our Play in Pink campaign, supported by Golf Ireland, lady captains and clubs across the country has been a real game-changer.
“This ongoing funding has greatly supported the National Breast Cancer Research Institute to finance research efforts on cancer genetics and improve newer treatments and outcomes for patients worldwide.
“We can’t thank Dromoland Castle enough for their support. The opportunity to partner with the event last year gave us an incredible platform to raise the profile of Play in Pink even more.
“Golf clubs across the island have been so generous in their support of Play in Pink since the beginning and this partnership can only help strengthen our relationship with the golf community in Ireland.”
Play in Pink has raised almost €2million over the last ten years with the 2022 campaign beating all previous records, raising a staggering €452,846 with over 200 clubs taking part.
25,000 people streamed through the gates at Dromoland Castle in 2022 and with even greater numbers expected this year, Play in Pink should be a big beneficiary as the generous spirit of the entire golf community in Ireland descends on the venue from August 31.
