Clandeboye’s Jessica Ross continued her sparkling form to move into the mix after the opening round of the European Mid-Amateur Championship in Bogogno Golf Resort, Italy.
The Ulster Strokeplay winner shares eighth place on one-over after a 73 with five players sharing the early lead on one-under-par.
Ross recovered from a two-over front nine that featured bogeys on the fifth and ninth with birdies on 12 and 17 but despite dropping a shot on 18 she remains firmly in the hunt with two rounds to play.
In the Men’s category, Royal Dublin duo Conor Harrington and James Monaghan are best of the Irish on four-over after a 76 left them in a share of 52nd place.
The third Royal Dubliner in the field, Shaun Carter is three shots further back on seven-over-par.
The lead is held by Nikolaj Hammergaard, Cedric Bertin-Pennarun and Michael Thannhauser.
