Daniel Mulligan posted a closing one-under 71 to seal a T33 finish at Frilford Heath Red as England’s Will Enefer shot 64 to come from deep and snatch a one-stroke victory at the second event of the Clutch Pro Tour season.

The only Irishman to make the cut, Mulligan began his final round on the tenth tee and, with bogeys at his opening two holes, looked set for a struggle. Another bogey at 17 was sandwiched by birdies at 16 and 18 as he began to find his groove, and though he’d offset further birdies at two and eight with bogeys at four and seven, an eagle-three at the sixth was enough to see him post a second successive under par round and climb to T33 on the leaderboard.

The day belonged to England’s Will Enefer, however, as the seventh-year pro shot a blistering eight-under par 64 to make a run from deep and take overall glory.

Three birdies on the spin from the second to the fourth got him moving in the right direction, and he’d add another at the sixth to cover the front nine in -4. He’d match that on the back, going bogey-free for the day, securing a one-stroke victory over a trio of fellow countrymen in Jack South, Olly Huggins and Jordan Wrisdale.

The win sees Enefer pick up the £8,000 first prize cheque, and move inside the top 5 in the Order of Merit, albeit with just two events in the books for the 2023 season.
