Pádraig Harrington and Darren Clarke return to PGA Tour Champions action at the Insperity Invitational as Bernhard Langer looks to break the wins record on the seniors circuit.

Harrington is making his fourth Champions Tour appearance of the season after some stints on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour in the interim.

The Dubliner has three top-7 finishes on the Champions Tour this season as he looks for his first win of the 2023 season. Harrington was rookie of the year as he picked up four wins including the US Senior’s Open which has booked him a spot in this year’s US Open in Los Angeles.

The three-time major winner hasn’t played since the first week in April but did register a top-10 finish at the Valero Texas Open and he is enjoying his golf more than ever.

“I am actually probably loving it more than ever,” said Harrington.

“I went through a period where five or six years ago I would have been a bit burnt out and finding it hard but I have got rid of a lot of the stuff I don’t want to do and I am really enjoying my life on tour and that’s showing up in my golf.”

Senior Open champion Darren Clarke has enjoyed an encouraging start to the 2023 season picking up two top-10 finishes although results have dipped slightly with finishes of 50th and 26th.

The big storyline however will be can the evergreen Langer finally pull out in front of Hale Irwin and win an unprecedented 46th Champions Tour title.

“Yeah, it’s a little bit on my mind, but it’s not so much when I play golf because I try and focus on what’s at hand, the next shot, the next hole, the next round, that kind of thing, but you guys remind me of it all the time, so it would be hard for me to forget it anyways,” said Langer.

“It’s an honor for me to have tied Hale Irwin’s record out here with 45 victories. We’re good friends. I never thought his number of victories could be caught, but I was fortunate enough to do it.

“Yes, I will try and beat the record and go a couple better if possible.”
