Emma Fleming posted a superb afternoon round of 69 to accelerate away from the field and claim a five-shot win at the Lahinch Women’s Scratch Cup.
It’s Fleming’s third Scratch Cup win of the season having captured the Royal County Down Scratch Salver and the Portrush Scratch Cup.
The Elm Park golfer had a one-shot lead in the morning ahead of Malahide’s Alison Taylor courtesy of an opening 70 but she pulled away from the field in the afternoon finishing five ahead of Lahinch’s Aideen Walsh on 139.
Walsh was three back after a morning 73 but improved with an afternoon 71 (144).
Rossmore’s Kate Dwyer continued her fine Scratch Cup form as the Woodbrook winner came third with rounds of 72 and 74 (146).
Ennis’ Sarah Cunningham beat Taylor to fourth after her 74 bettered Taylor’s afternoon 76 (147).
Fleming is in flying form in 2023 and the Leinster Girls champion extends her lead at the top of the Bridgestone Order of Merit Rankings.
