Golf Ireland High Performance Director Neil Manchip is looking forward to the upcoming international events and the future of Irish golf, as the teams were announced for the U16 Quadrangular Matches, French U21 Women’s Championship (Esmond Trophy), and French Boys Championship.
The U16 Quadrangular Matches will take place on 5 and 6 April at the Kennemer Golf & Country Club in Zandvoort, Netherlands. The format will be both singles and foursomes matches, with Ireland facing Scotland and Wales on 5 April across morning and afternoon sessions, before their final match against the Netherlands the following morning.
The French U21 Women’s Championship will be held from 6-10 April at Golf de Saint-Cloud, Paris, and the French Boys Championship is also scheduled for 6-10 April at Golf de St-Germain, France. And with the latest selections Manchip is excited for the future of Irish golf.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing how these teams can perform over the coming weeks. International team events like the U16 Quadrangular are great outlets for these players to showcase their talent in a competitive setting against their international counterparts,” said Manchip.
“It’s great to have that team aspect while the French U21 women’s and boys championships are a brilliant individual challenge for all of the players involved. With so many very talented players competing on the international stage it really is a very exciting time for Irish golf.”
