Patrick Keeling came from seven shots back to win the Murcia Amateur Championship in a playoff.
The Roganstown starlet (-2) shot a level-par 72 to force a playoff with overnight leader Sondre Kravik of Norway – which he won on the first extra hole.
Keeling teed off seven shots adrift but after Kravik triple bogeyed his opening hole, the gap was immediately reduced to four shots and it was game on.
Kravik compounded the error with a double and Keeling was just two back after successive opening pars.
The teenager was slow to make inroads, turning in two over after dropped shots on, three, five and eight meant he trailed by five at the halfway point.
It was nip and tuck on the back nine, with Keeling birdieing 11 and 14, while Kravik dropped three shots in that spell.
The Norwegian responded with a brace of birdies on 16 and 17 to edge one clear before he dropped a shot on 18 to give Keeling the reprieve of a playoff.
It was a double celebration for the Keeling’s after Sean Keeling won on the European Pro Golf Tour last week.
It proved to be a strong week for the Irish overall with Padraig O’Dochartaigh (+1) and David Shiel (+3) coming fifth and eighth respectively.
O’Dochartaigh carded a one-under 71 while Paraic Connnolly was 23rd.
