Sean Keeling lies in second place just two shots off the lead in the amateur class in the Toro Tour Winter Series at Atalaya New Course.
Keeling shot a sensational eight-under 63 to move to eleven-under heading into the final round where Scotland’s Matthew Wilson leads on thirteen-under.
Naas man Robert Brazill added a 67 to his opening 66 to occupy third place on nine-under while Patrick Keeling (Roganstown) and James Temple (Portmarnock) are in seventh on five-under.
Padraig O’Dochartaigh of Gweedore is tenth on three-under after a 67.
In the all class that includes both professionals and amateurs Keeling is third, four shots adrfit of England’s Ollie Chesterman.
The Roganstown teenager was magnificent on a low scoring day in Spain carding six birdies and an eagle on the par-5 6th hole.
The Ulster and Connacht Boys champion made the turn in a superb 31 courtesy of an opening birdie and a run of birdie, eagle, birdie from the fifth.
Keeling added birdies on the 11th, 12th and 15th to roar into contention.
Irish international Brazill liked the first seven holes as he has played them in seven-under-par so far and he continued in that vein with birdies at the second, fifth and sixth. Dropped shots arrived at the ninth and seventeenth but he also posted birdies on 10, 15 and 18.
