Noel Crawford, Kieran McCarthy and Jody Fanagan all secured top-6 finishes at the 13th Portuguese Senior Men’s International Championship as Finland’s Matti Moilanen cruised to a four-shot win.
Crawford of Mourne Golf Club was the best of the Irish on the final day, posting a two-over 74 to finish on seven-over-par for the 54 holes, six shy of Moilanen.
Senior Scratch Cup specialist McCarthy of Kinsale was in the mix heading into the final day but a six-over 78 saw him drift into a share of sixth place alongside his compatriots
Fanagan, the reigning Irish Senior Amateur champion began the day on level-par and the Milltown native was seven-over on the final day to round off a good week for the Irish.
Peter Sheehan was sixteenth on ten-over while Karl Bornean was two shots further back.
