Mairead Martin secured her first top-10 of the season at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate as Louisville claimed third place at the Club at Olde Stone.
Martin shot rounds of 72, 71 and 76 to finish in seventh place on three-over-par, five shots behind eventual winner and team-mate Carmen Griffiths.
The Kanturk native endured a rollercoaster final round in which she carded two double-bogeys, three birdies and three bogeys.
In the end it was a double-bogey sixes on the first and 15th that ultimately cost her a chance at earning her first win Stateside.
The Leinster Women’s Open champion also bogeyed the third and fifth to fall to four-over after five holes.
But the Cork woman rallied with birdies on the sixth, eleventh and fourteenth which cancelled out a dropped shot on 10 and a six on 15 as she played the remaining two thirds of her round in level-par.
Meanwhile in the East Lake Cup Anna Foster shone as she secured a 4&2 win as Auburn saw off Oregon. Auburn won the tie 3-2 with the last match playing out to a dramatic conclusion on the 19th hole.
UCLA’s Annabel Wilson was beaten 5&4 in the other semi-final tie against Texas A&M.
