90 players made the most of pristine conditions around Portmarnock Links on Tuesday but none more so than Limerick’s Tim Rice and Rathfarnham’s Liam Power who took the spoils at the latest TaylorMade Winter Series outing.

EuroPro Tour regular Rice has become a serial winner during the series and signed for a one-under 70 to take the Gross prize.

Going out in two-under par after making birdies on the 2nd and 6th, Rice dropped his only shot of the day on his inward half to edge out the K Club’s Liam Grehan and Portmarnock Links member AJ McCabe by a single stroke.

Meanwhile, for once it wasn’t Seamus but Liam Power who grabbed the headlines with the Rathfarnham pro returning a smashing round of 69 to take Nett honours.

Out in two-under par with just the two birdies on the 1st and 7th and no drop shots, Power came home in level par, dropping a shot on the 12th and 15th before making up for them with birdies on the 13th and 14th for a superb two-under total.

Niall Kearney was also on site, sharpening his tools before his DP World season gets underway with the Royal Dublin man showing signs of form in a level par 71, highlighted by five birdies but a few too many mistakes with two doubles and a bogey also on his card.

Next week is fully booked again and the time sheets are open for the month of February. Congrats to all the winners.
