Fundació ASPACE, an organisation whose purpose is to maximise the capacities of people with Cerebral Palsy in Mallorca, will be the Official Charity of the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A.

The Road to Mallorca season finale gets underway at T Golf & Country Club, Mallorca, from November 4-7 as the top 45 players on the Rankings compete for one of 20 European Tour cards for the 2022 season. Michael Hoey is Ireland’s sole representative in Mallorca and finds himself in 36th place on the money-list, trailing more than 20,000 points behind the all-important 20th place ahead of the bumper €450,000 event.

The Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final will donate funds raised from a charity auction and other fundraising games after the pre-tournament Pro-Am events to Fundació ASPACE in order to enable them to increase their offering and support to people with Cerebral Palsy.

Fundació ASPACE work with people with Cerebral Palsy and related disabilities in their physical, affective, cognitive and psychosocial aspects, compensating and optimizing those that can affect the development and learning processes through a comprehensive treatment and education approach to access a greater school, social and work integration.

Cerebral palsy is a disability caused by an injury to the brain that occurs during pregnancy, childbirth or during the first years of a child’s life and generally entails a physical disability to a greater or lesser degree, but it can also be accompanied by a sensory and/or intellectual disability.

Fundació ASPACE work with over 190 professionals to provide comprehensive care to more than 400 permanent users. Their services include early years attention, running day centres, residential services, introducing people with Cerebral Palsy to leisure and sports and corporate services.

Chris Atkinson, Championship Director of the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A, said: “We are honoured to be able to work with Fundació ASPACE to help them continue provide the priceless services they offer to people with Cerebral Palsy in Mallorca.

“Fundació ASPACE rely on support from their network and we are proud to be able to donate funds raised at our event to enhance the charity’s offering.”
